Who can receive ABA?
Atlantis Positive Behavior Services will ensure that the listed criteria are met for entrance into the ABA program.
Diagnosis
The individual has a psychiatric diagnosis as identified in the most current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) or has a provisional psychiatric diagnosis that has been developed by a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) when no other diagnosis has been established.
Participation
The individual and the individual’s parent/caregiver/guardian(s) are willing and able to participate in services

at least weekly
-
as determined by the individual treatment plan
Observation
At least 2 of the following occurs continuously or intermittently
-
communication difficulties
-
impairments in social skills
-
frequent outbursts that are self-injurious and or aggressive
-
obsessive, repetitive behaviors
-
sensory difficulties

Evidence
The individual requesting ABA services must have a level of disability which requires a level of intervention that cannot be provided by another covered service and requires behavioral therapy involvement as well as the expertise of a LMHP or a BCBA or BCaBA.
